Case of the Mondays

Bands are a dime a dozen, that's all there is to it. Case of the Mondays separate themselves from the norm by coating catchy ska, rock and reggae riffs with clever lyrics and contagious melodies. In a modern music market saturated with whining, screaming, angst-driven manic-depressives, they trudge forward armed with unwavering optimism: with dreams of helping steer popular music away from the medicine cabinet of despair.

You could classify Case of the Mondays as a ska band, but one listen would prove otherwise. They coat catchy rock riffs with ska rhythms, add a dash of reggae, a twist of punk, and occasionally garnish this distinct concoction with a hint of hip-hop.

Including having self-produced two EPs, Case of the Mondays has several other noteworthy accomplishments in their 5 year career. They opened up the Philadelphia leg of the Ska is Dead Tour, were Zippo Hot Tour semi-finalists in 2005, and have enjoyed radio play on several Philadelphia stations including 93.3 WMMR, and Y100.3 FM.

Case of the Mondays has opened up for many national acts including legendary ska band The Toasters, Streetlight Manifesto, Mustard Plug, and Gym Class Heroes. They have performed at renowned Philadelphia venues such as the Trocadero, Grape Street Philadelphia, and the Theater of Living Arts.

The internet has proven to be a successful forum for Case of the Mondays. They have topped the charts on Garageband.com as well as 15MegsofFame.com. Their Myspace.com stats are impressive to say the least, and their merchandise sales have grown worldwide.

Rob Harrigan and Jeff Stumpf are the secret formula for the band’s rhythm section; balancing both modest playing styles and intricate techniques to form a unique yet solid foundation. Dustin Dellinger adds to the mix with his imaginative guitar riffs and subtle method. Jon Gray’s powerful melodies are the vehicle for his witty and honest lyrics; providing Case of the Mondays with their signature sound. Finally, their horn section, comprised of Brian Gannon and Bob Gordon, set them apart from your average rock band with commanding arrangements and unparalleled vigor.
